Jill Capicchioni
Jill Capicchioni is a Milwaukee-based visual and installation artist whose practice spans collage, painting, and public installations — all threaded together by an interest in language and community healing. She creates because she is called to, and it is the art itself that has directed her toward helping others heal through its power. She is the founder of WordHouseMKE, a public art project that installs hand built boxes made from reclaimed materials in gardens and community spaces across the city, inviting neighbors to engage with poetry and place. She is also the creator of the Riverwest Radio Ghost Walk, an annual event that brings together neighborhood storytelling, art and community. Her work also includes miniature dioramas, language-based public installations, and collaborative projects with poets, ecologists, and local organizations — all rooted in a belief that art can hold what communities struggle to say out loud. She has exhibited in local shows, including a win at the 2025 Diorama Rama, and continues to develop public programming at the crossroads of neighborhood revitalization, environmental stewardship, and collective expression.
